The Nursery

Well it's finally finished! I still need to hang a few things on the white part of the walls (like his name in block letters when we decide on one) & put some things on the shelves, but for the most part it's complete! If only we had a "before" picture of this room....it used to be our office/junk room & it was terrible! Let's just say the door used to be kept closed at all times! I'm pretty happy with the results and I finally feel ready to have this baby come now that we have somewhere to put him! ;)
I had originally planned on doing a whole fire truck theme but finding the color scheme to match was a lot harder than planned, so I ended up going with a red, blue, brown, fire truck, star, America theme- whatever!

Tony putting together the dresser- as cute as he looks, he was actually extremely frustrated at this point! Thanks babe for doing that, even though you wanted to put your fist through a wall at the end! ;)

Macie trying to stay busy while we got baby brother's room ready! The outfits she comes up with sometimes! Never a dull moment with this one!

Valentines Weekend...

We had a fun Valentines weekend this year. On Friday night we went to dinner and a movie with Tony's 2 brothers & their wives. We saw the movie "Valentines Day" which I absolutely LOVED!
On Saturday Tony came home with some flowers for me (we had to tell Macie they were for her, too, since she wanted some!) Tony hates buying flowers because he thinks they are such a waste of money, and I guess in a way they are, but I still love getting them regardless!
Later that night our friend Charley called & said he could get us into a Josh Turner concert that night and wanted to know if we wanted to go. We of course did, so we dropped off Macie at my parents' house and headed down to the Salt Palace. We were sat at a table in the very front of the banquet room with Charley & Brooke as well as our other friends Cassie & Dave. To all of our surprise, the 4 empty seats at our table ended up being for SL County Mayor Peter Caroon & his assistant as well as Congressman Jim Matheson & his assistant- we were all a little speechless (& slightly intimidated!) when they greeted us & sat down to eat with us! Charley sang the National Anthem acapella & did such a great job as he always does. Then we were served a Lobster & Primerib dinner. Turns out it was a banquet/auction for hunting/wildlife & to get in normally costs $175 a person! After our delicious dinner/dessert there was an auction where people were bidding as much as $250,000 for hunting tags- it was amazing to see the amount of money being spent (especially on hunting which I don't quite understand!) After the auction Josh Turner put on a private concert & was so close- he's extremely sexy by the way! It was such a cool night- we had a great time! Thanks again Charley & Brooke!Josh- he is not only sexy looking but has such a sexy deep voice!

Baby Update

I went to my doctor's appt today- I'm 36 1/2 weeks along. The nurse weighed me twice to make sure she got it right- that's never a good sign! Apparently I've gained some weight due to swelling in the last 2 weeks. My blood pressure was slightly more elevated than my normal numbers as well. The doctor didn't seem too worried about it, though. He just said to avoid salt as much as possible, and don't drink more than usual- I had read that if you drink a lot of water it will somehow make the swelling better but he said that's a normal misconception & infact it does the opposite & makes you swell more! Who knew?! I never had swelling with Macie so I had no idea what to do!

Anyway, he checked me and I'm not dilated at all. He thinks I'll probably go right around my due date. As uncomfortable as I am, I'm okay with that since I could still use a few more weeks to get things more ready! The baby is in the head-down position and everything is looking good & healthy. I have another appointment at 38 weeks so I'll update if anything has changed. I can't believe we're down to the final weeks!
