Fun in the Mountains

Last Saturday the Davies family all went up to Tony's parents' property for the day for Grandma Dixie's birthday. We went for a walk and some of them went swimming in the river, including Macie who didn't care how cold it was! We had dinner and hung around and talked- it was fun!

Petting Zoo

On Friday Tony and I took Macie to Gardner Village to the little petting zoo so she could see some animals up close. She absolutely loved it! She wanted to pull the goats' tails and touch all of the animals faces....I was just waiting for one of them to bite her, but luckily they're all probably used to that so they were nice to her. The little goat in the last picture kept following us around...he wanted to eat Macie's skirt....it was pretty funny!

16 Month Check-up

Macie had her 15 month check-up today, even though she's actually 16 months old. She weighs 22.4lbs & is 30.5 inches, both are right around average. She is growing so fast! She kind of had an attitude with the doctor (surprise!) but she made the doctor laugh, too. She's saying more words than the "average" 16 month old. She says: "mommy", "daddy", "noni" (Tony), "akee" (Ashley), "Halle", "too" (Crew), "kay" (Kaden), "papa" (grandpas), "cracker", "glasses", "baby", "doggy", "bear", "ball", "buh-bye", "NO", "yeah", "cuh-cuh", "poop", "shoes", "cheese", "nana" (banana), "juice", "ouwee", "bath", etc. She's pretty smart- what can I say, she's my daughter! J/K! She's been throwing fits (more than usual!) lately so I was kind of thinking she had an ear infection or something but she looks healthy! It looks like her canines are starting to erupt, though, so I'm hoping that's why she's been that way! Anyway, she had to have 1 shot but she stopped crying as soon as they gave her a popsicle. Plus, she got some princess stickers and a new book so she left pretty happy!

Big Shoes to Fill

Macie has an obesession with shoes- anytime she sees anyone's shoes she says "shoes" and tries to put them on. The best part is watching her try to walk in them- especially when they're ginormous shoes like daddy's! She is always making us laugh! You gotta love her!

Sunday

Last Sunday (August 3rd) we went to little Benson's blessing- he is Shane & Emily's newest edition- that was our first time meeting him. He pretty much slept the whole time, so I only got one picture of him in his carseat. Later on we went up to Granny Hilda's for her annual "Ice Cream Social"- it felt good to get out of the heat & into the mountains. Macie loves it up there!
