Happy Easter!

On Saturday we dyed our eggs and Macie absolutely loved it of course! The kids went to bed & when they woke up Sunday morning the Easter bunny had left them a few little things in their baskets and hid a few eggs filled with candy & toys around the living room.  We went to church and had a really nice meeting (except for trying to keep our kids quiet!).  Tony and I teach the Sunbeams in Primary and I taught about the resurrection.  I'm not sure if they got it or not, but listening to them try to pronounce "resurrection" was hilarious!  After church we got together with my family for dinner and an Easter egg hunt.  The kids had a lot of fun and looked so cute in their cute Easter outfits.  Later that night instead of our regular story time I discussed the resurrection and the meaning of Easter with Macie and used the Sunbeam lesson (she had gone to the other sunbeam class and didn't get the lesson earlier).  At first I thought it would be way over her head, but she really seemed to understand what it was all about.  When she said her prayer after she said "thank you for Jesus and bringing him back to life"....I think she got it!  Moments like that make my job as a mom rewarding!  Anyway, we had a nice Easter!
The first time we went to the mall Macie refused to sit on the Easter bunny's lap, but the 2nd time she begged me to do it!  I really thought Pax would freak out, especially since he HATED Santa, but he just looked at the bunny like it was no big deal!  Santa is scary but the creepy Easter bunny is your buddy?  Crazy kid!

Somebody likes smoothies...

A couple of weeks ago we got smoothies after swimming like usual & Paxton wanted some of mine so bad!  I sucked some up to the top of the straw so he could have a taste but he just happened to figure out how to suck through a straw right then so he drank half my smoothie!  Everytime I tried taking it from him he would scream!  But how can you resist this face...he couldn't be happier with that smoothie!  :)

Pax is 13 months now and is saying a few more words...."cheese" when he sees a camera, "cue"(cute) when he sees a picture of somebody, "nanny" but I'm not sure what that means yet, "ow" (out) when he wants to get out of his highchair, or "ow" when he thinks something hurts, and he's even started calling me "addy" (Ashley)...Macie calls me Ashley all the time (not really sure why!) so I think he has picked up on it!  Great!  The one word that I thought he would be saying now for sure is "NO", but he hasn't EVER said it!  He does hear a lot...it was one of Macie's first words...but he doesn't say it!  So funny!

Macie's Princess Party

I thought I'd save money and have Macie's party at our house this year...however, I'm not sure I saved any money at all, and with all the work of the set-up and clean-up I didn't save time either!  But she wanted a princess party with her friends so that's what she got!  They all had so much fun...it was worth every penny!
The Birthday Princess...she chose to be Belle that day!  (We never know what dress-up she'll have on, but she's sure to have one on pretty much anytime we're home!)

We took all the girls' pictures in the princess carriage photo booth!

Mom & Charli

Since she already got her cake on her real birthday she got cupcakes for the party (don't worry, I had to clear it with her first since she is still upset about getting cupcakes instead of a cake for her 3rd birthday!)...Anyway, I got her an Ariel candle (since that's her favorite princess, always has been) and she got so excited to blow it out that she did it about 5 seconds before we were done singing!  Hilarious!

It pays to have a family balloon business!  So cute!

Grandma Thelma with her grandgirl princesses!

The Queen and the Princess!  :)

Charli & Molly got Macie this cute Mermaidia dress-up....of course Macie barely waited until her party was over before she had it on!  She told me she was cold later on...I told her to put some clothes on, so she put sweats on & a shirt over it, but kept the mermaid dress-up on!

Apparently Macie had plenty of sugar & junk food at her party so for dinner she requested edamame beans (she calls them green beans), strawberries, raspberries, and cheese!  Can't get any healther that that!

And cute Pax Man slept during the whole party!  Yay!  Love those new upper goofy teeth!

Macie's Birthday

Macie turned 4 years old!  She is growing up so fast.  I thought 3 was the year of attitude, but so far it seems like 4 is even worse!  She definitely has her own opinion about things and is very independent.  But at the same time she is so sweet.  Macie loves to be outside, so this LONG winter is driving us all crazy!  On her birthday we woke up to a whole bunch of snow!  But she didn't care, she was just happy it was her birthday!  I had some balloons and her presents on the kitchen table for her when she woke up...when she saw them she was so excited and could hardly wait one more minute to open them!  She loved everything she got.  I made her favorite breakfast- french toast.  It was General Conference so we didn't have church, so we just hung out and relaxed all day and she played with all her new toys.
Later on, after dinner, we had our family over for ice cream and cake and presents.  She loves playing with her cousins so she couldn't have been happier.  The day before I let her pick out her own cake from Costco- she chose a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting with lots of colored flowers....I was kind of thinking that might be a little rich for most people so I tried to talk her into a white cake but she insisted on chocolate.  When I was little I always used to want a chocolate cake and my mom would always tell me that no one else liked chocolate cake so I always had to get the white one.  So I decided to just let her get the one she wanted!  It was rich, but it tasted great, and most importantly she loved it!

Paxton was not amused by Macie opening her presents...he just wanted his breakfast!

The Birthday Princess and her chocolate cake!

Kaden & Pax

Macie got his creepy Ariel cape with a face from Mackensie & Ryan....it creeps us all out and Paxton cries everytime he sees it!  Thanks a lot guys!  :)

My parents got Macie a new big girl bike that she had picked out...she LOVES it!  Unfortunately there was too much snow to ride it for a few days, but she's getting used to it now!

Macie is getting smarter every day.  She is starting to put letters together and is able to spell her name and a few 3 letter words.  She can write all of her letters and the first time I saw her write her name was absolutely priceless!  She drew a picture of our family at preschool awhile back (I need to scan it and post it)...it was absolutlely priceless and actually brought me to tears!  She is so ready to read and I am trying to work with her so she can.  Lately she will point things out and say their color in spanish...it's so cute!  She is constantly surprising me with new things that she has learned.
Macie is such a good big sister!  Sometimes I think having a 3rd baby will be no problem since she'll be even older and more help!  She is always willing to help, whether it be getting a diaper, feeding Paxton his yogurt, making sure Pax doesn't put anything too small in his mouth, watching him to make sure he doesn't do anything dangerous, etc.  She was actually able to start the diaper changing process until Paxton got too crazy and now it takes all of my strength to change him so I know she couldn't do it even if she wanted to!  She loves to help me clean, cook, bake, and shop!  My favorite thing is when I try on clothes at the mall or put on a shirt she likes at home she'll say "Oh Mom, you look so cute!"  She is always complimenting me which is so adorable!  Macie is also very emotional...she takes after her mama!
We love you Macie girl and even though your little personality is challenging at times I wouldn't change anything about you!
