5 Months Old

Paxton turned 5 months old last week!  He is getting so big!  At 5 months old he weighs 19 lbs (Macie barely weighed that at a year!)  He is rolling all over, starting to sit alone for a few seconds at a time, and is already trying to crawl!  He gets up on his knees and does the rock...it won't be long before he's all over the place!  He is eating every 2-3 hrs still, and before bedtime eats some oatmeal mixed with pear juice- he wouldn't eat much else and the only stuff he would eat was making his tummy upset so the oatmeal with pear juice has been a good transition and I think he's actually starting to like it! (Thanks Wendy!)
He still isn't sleeping through the night, but I've been trying to get him to go a little longer between feedings if I can, and I've been trying to keep him in his crib the whole night rather than bringing him in bed with me (which is so much easier!)  He also takes AWESOME naps during the day...usually a short one in the morning then a 2-3 hr one in the afternoon!
He is very grabby and will grab anything in sight and stick it right in his mouth!  He especially loves to grab hair...I think this is the reason I ended up cutting my hair when Macie was about 10 months old.  He gets Macie's hair a lot, too.
Anyway, he is "talking" a lot and spitting and is so fun!  We love you Paxy boy!

Macie's First Day of Dance

Macie started her first ballet/tap class last week.  She absolutely LOVED every minute of it!  Her teacher is darling, she only has 5 other girls in the class, and they seem to be fun but professional!  She has been showing us her moves ever since!  She's been to 2 classes now and has done so good!  I can't wait for her recitals, she'll be so fun to watch!

Bouncy Boy!

A few weeks ago Paxton figured out how to jump in his little jumper....he has been loving it ever since!  Sometimes I'll put him in the doorway of the bathroom while I shower & get ready....one day he was super tired and when I looked down he was sound asleep!  He had bounced himself to sleep!  It was too cute!

Newport Beach

I'm super late on posting this, but a couple of weeks ago we went to Newport Beach, California for a week! It was so fun!  My family all got a beach house but since we had Paxton (who still doesn't sleep through the night) we decided it would be better for us to stay in a hotel so we didn't keep the whole house awake at night!  Our hotel turned out to be super nice and cozy, but we spent most of our time at the beach house with everybody.  Besides Disneyland day we went to the beach every day that we were there.  The weather was unusually cool (low 70s) and it was kind of windy, so you couldn't be in the shade, and it didn't motivate me to go in the water, but we still had a great time!  This is our 3rd year going, and we hope to keep the tradition!

The last day we went to lunch at Ruby's Diner...there was a guy making the kids balloon animals.  We had no idea how good he would be!  Crew got a cool dinosaur and Macie & Halle got Ariel mermaids!  They were really cool!  Macie's made it all the way home but popped the next day.

Disneyland!!!

While we were in California we went to Disneyland & California Adventure.  The kids had so much fun, and so did the adults!  The girls had lunch with the princesses which was AWESOME!  It was kind of pricey, but the food was amazing and the girls LOVED being able to have lots of one-on-one time with the princesses...it saved us an hour of waiting in line to see them at the castle and only being able to see 3.  Macie was almost speechless when she saw Ariel (her favorite!).  Then Belle, Aurora (sleeping beauty), Snow White and Cinderella all took turns coming to talk to us at our table and got pictures and lots of hugs!  Cinderella was by far the sweetest...she hung around the longest and just kept talking, it was so cute!  It was worth every penny!
One of the last rides we went on was Pirates of the Carribean- Paxton didn't like it so much.  I didn't know at this age he could know to be scared, but he was.  He kept just burying his little face in my chest and then looking around then he'd do it again.  It was so sad!  He is kind of sensitive!
Anyway, it was kind of crowded but we managed to go on lots of rides and have a great time!
Waiting to get  into Disneyland!
Macie & Halle....Minnie Mouse had a line to see her so we just got one with her in the background!
The 3 of us on "Soarin' Over California"....very cool ride!  Macie loved it!
Macie & Ariel...I think Macie was still in shock at this point!  She LOVES Ariel!  She was also a little disappointed that Ariel didn't actually sit at our table and eat with us!  When I told her we were having lunch with the princesses she took it literally!  Oops!
Enjoying our lunch!  It was BEAUTIFUL weather!
Waving to Aurora!  The girls got to have a quick lesson on how to bow, wave, and do a little dance!
Halle, Macie & Allie hugging Cinderella!
Crew trying out some of our great desserts!  We got 2 trays of a variety of treats and got to try them all!

Waiting in line for Dumbo!
Small World...one of the kids' very favorite rides!
