Breakfast With Santa

It has been a tradition, since I can remember, to have breakfast with Santa on Christmas Eve morning.  We've changed venues over the years and the last few we've payed a hefty price at Millenial Falls.  This year we decided to do it ourselves with the help from some friends!  So we had it at a house (thanks Chris!) and made a delicious breakfast and had Santa come!  The food was better, it didn't cost as much, and the kids all got plenty of time to hang out with Santa after they ate....plus it was cozy just having all of our besties and not a bunch of random people!  I think it turned out to be one of the best years we've ever done it!  Hopefully we can continue to do it in years to come!

"Santa is STILL scary guys!"

I love this picture of Paxton checking out Santa...we expected him to start crying after he discovered who was holding him, but he actually didn't care too much at all!  Maybe having his big sis and cousins with him made it better!?!

Davies Christmas Party

We had Tony's family Christmas party the Sunday before Christmas.  We had a yummy dinner and then played a fun game of bingo.  Dixie got everyone a pair of gloves, including the kids...Macie got some pink princess ones and she wears them EVERYWHERE!  My nephew Crew also loved his gloves & insists on wearing them all day!  Who would have thought gloves would be such a hit?!  Anyway, Santa came and we sang some songs then he gave each of the kids an early Christmas present.  Macie got the Rapunzel doll and was super excited...we finally saw the movie the day before (and LOVED it!)!  Paxton got some little trucks...he still hates Santa!

Paxton checking out the person who is holding him....

...."yeah, Mom & Dad, I STILL don't like him!"

9 Months

I can't believe he's 9 months already...and I was so late posting his 8 month update that I don't feel like much is different since then!  Paxton is our happy, silly baby!  He always makes us laugh and I just want to kiss him all the time because he's so darn cute!  He knows when he shouldn't be doing something and as soon as you start chasing after him or telling him no he laughs and does it faster!  He is such a ham...he makes this scrunched up face and breathes hard through his nose...it's so silly and it makes us laugh everytime!
He is climbing up and onto everything, and has stood alone a couple of times.  Today he even took a step...I don't think it will be long before this kid is not only walking but running!  (I'm not really looking forward to that!)
He has officially outgrown (by weight) his baby carrier so we had to put the big carseat in backwards to be safe...and also because it was literally killing all of our backs, shoulders, arms, etc to lift him in the carrier!  He's way too heavy for that thing!  He is going to love facing forward in a few months!

Macie's First Dance Recital

Macie had her first dance recital at Murray High School.  The girls looked so cute and did such a great job!  I was a little nervous that Macie wouldn't do anything but she actually remembered most of her dance and did so well!  They danced to "Santa Baby"...I recorded it on my old-school video cam so who knows if/when I'll get that transferred to the computer! Girls are so fun!

First Visit with Santa

We saw Santa for the first time this year at my parents' ward Christmas party this year.  Macie told him what she wanted.  (We went to Toys'R'Us and she got to pick ONE toy that Santa could bring her...she ended up telling him something different so we'll see what he actually brings!)  Paxton didn't like Santa AT ALL!

Pax was happy after he got his stuffed animal!

Rockettes

My grandma Vickie has been talking about seeing the RadioCity Rockettes forever...she has always said when her "ship" comes in (meaning, when she gets rich) she was going to take us all to New York to see them!  Since her "ship" is apparently lost at sea and the Rockettes are touring for the first time ever, I decided to take her to see them when they were here, for her Christmas present!  She was so excited when I told her!  My mom, Macie, Mackensie, and Halle also came.  It was a fun girls' night.  Macie ended up falling asleep...kind of wish I wouldn't have spent money on a ticket for her!  The show was awesome though...a MUST SEE!  I would love to go to New York again and see them in their home theater, but this was the next best thing!  My grandma had such a great time...she literally had tears in her eyes (okay, so she gets tears over most things, but she really was excited!)  I realized when I got home that she was the only one I didn't get a picture of!  But she is in the background of one (crying) so I guess that will work!

We had to wake Macie up after the show was over....she wasn't happy about it!

Thanksgiving

Apparently I was too busy going through Black Friday ads and helping fix (& eat) dinner that I neglected my photographing duties....but I got a few!  We ate with Tony's family earlier in the afternoon.  We got to their house in the late morning so we could spend some time there so we didn't have to just show up, eat, and run!  After we ate we hung around a little bit then headed to my aunt Charli's house for dinner with my family.  Both dinners were delicious!  It was a fun, eventful day!  We got home and relaxed for a little bit, and I got the kids to bed before I headed to my mom's house to sleepover (not that we did much sleeping...we were up at 1am for Black Friday- my favorite day of the year!)
My kids found something to entertain them while I helped with dinner!

My handsome husband helping out in the kitchen (I had to take a picture since that doesn't happen too often!)

Look Who's 30!!!

Tony turned 30 on the 21st....he is so OLD!!!  He may be officially old, but he still acts like he's young!  I had a little get together with a bunch of his friends the night before his birthday at our house.  We had dinner and poker and had a great time!  I seriously love this man!  He is such a good person, he is so many things that I wish I could be, and he loves me and our kids unconditionally!  He's honest and a hard worker.  My life would be so boring without him...I can't imagine going through this life (or the next!) without him!  I love you babe!  Happy 30th Birthday!

8 Months

Another month and Paxton continues to grow up too fast!  This boy is going to keep me busy!  He figured out how to climb the stairs and gets to the top pretty quick! He even tried to climb up on the railing from the stairs the other day...he climbs up on everything!
He is growing so big & tall...weighing about 21 pounds.  Even in the last week he has grown completely out of clothes that fit him just a week ago (snug, but they fit!)  His personality is coming out more and more and he is so much fun.  He is such a happy baby...he almost makes me think I might want another one someday!  ALMOST!  :)
He loves to follow Macie around and play with anything that makes noise or lights up...or anything that's Macie's (he's kind of a tease!)  He loves swimming, too...we go once a week.
I've still been able to nurse him but we're gradually starting the weaning process.  Right now he has about 1 (sometimes 2) formula bottles a day, along with his solids (yogurt, fruit, and sweet potatoes are his favorite.)  And he is super attached to Mommy!  He loves anyone who will give him attention, but he definitely prefers me (and I'm not complaining!)  Tony had him the other night (I slept at my mom's house for Black Friday) and he said when he got up with him Paxton kept looking for me...so cute!
As for sleeping, naptimes are the only thing that's consistent.  At night he'll sometimes sleep from 8pm when he goes to bed until around 5am, but I'd say more often than not he wakes up between 1 & 2am to eat.  The other night he slept from 8pm until 8am the next morning....a 12 hour stretch!!!  That's NEVER happened so I was estatic, and of course it hasn't happened since!  I should learn to go to bed when he does!  Hopefully one day we'll get into a good nighttime sleeping pattern.

Disney On Ice

We were able to go to Disney On Ice last week, kind of last minute.  My sister-in-law's friend is the marketing director for a local radio station and she scored us some FREE tickets...can't beat that!  Macie was in total awe the whole time (see below photo!)  Tony watched Paxton, so it was fun to have a little Macie time! She had so much fun...it was worth going just to see her reaction!

The Little Mermaid was of course Macie's favorite part...Ariel has always been her favorite princess!

Halloween at Granny's House

On Halloween day we went to my Granny's house for a party.  By this time I was done with Halloween since I feel like we celebrated it all week!  Granny had a cute treasure hunt for the kids, a costume contest (which everyone won!), and cookies & cupcakes to decorate.  We had a fun time!
Paxton & Mom

Macie was super excited reading all the clues and figuring out where to go next!

My dad put this mask on and we all died laughing!  He looked hilarious! ;)

Halloween Party in Wendover

Our friend is a singer and invited a group of us to go to Wendover for a Halloween party the Friday night before Halloween on his tour bus.  We all dressed up and went out....the drive was actually fun because we were able to play games and eat and be comfortable!  We started out at Montego Bay where Tony and I both lost our money within the first hour!  We went to the Rainbow a little later and that was way more fun.  I taught a couple people how to play craps and they won so that was cool...the only down side of the whole night (besides losing our money!) was a creepy, pervert guy that ended up following us to the second casino, but luckily Tony (I mean Bret Michaels) called him out and told him to get lost so we never saw him again!
When we walked into the 2nd casino Tony had instant fans!  Two girls ran to him yelling "Bret Michaels we love you!" and they got their pictures taken with him!  One lady actually wasn't sure if he was the real Bret or not for a few minutes, and one guy kept following him around....he actually had fans!  It was hilarious!  We left around 2am and some people slept on the bus on the way home while the rest of us hung out in the back and talked.  We ended up sleeping at my parents' house that night since we got home so late and the kids were sleeping there.  It was such a fun night...we're hoping do it again soon...only without the costumes!
