Slumber Party at Whit's Cabin

My friend Whitney's family has a beautiful cabin in Midway.  She invited us to go stay a night there so we took her up on it.  It was just 4 of us girls and all of our kids (except for Bentley, because Wendy thought she'd have a little more relaxing time without him!).  Between all of us there were 6 kids so it wasn't exactly a quiet night, but we had a fun time.  We got some dinner on the way up.  Then we got the kids to bed and hung out on the balcony that overlooks the valley...it was a beautiful night!  The next day we went to lunch at a great pizza place then headed home.  It was so much fun to hang out and catch up with the girls!  Thanks again Whit!

Kristin & Chase...I mean "Chasina"...haha, don't tell Bridger!
(Chase pooped through his outfit at lunch so he borrowed one from Kenli for just a minute!)

Whit & the twins...well Chloe, Libby apparently didn't make it into this picture!

6 Months

I can't believe my baby is already 6 months old!  Time has gone way too fast. He just might be my last baby, which makes me want to keep him a baby longer, but that seems to make him grow even faster! We went to his 6 month checkup and he weighed 19.9 lbs (he dropped to the 90th perentile rather than the usual 95th percentile), he is 27.5 inches (90th percentile) and his head is in the 75th percentile.  At 6 months he is babbling a lot, including "dada" despite my efforts to get him to say "mama!"  He is rolling all over the place, and is so close to crawling- he gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back & forth and scoots his knees forward, he can also scoot backwards...I'm not encouraging the crawling thing since I know my life will change dramatically once he's officially mobile, but I have a feeling it will happen soon!  He is so curious...anything he can get his hands on he'll explore...and if he can't get his hands on it he'll keep trying until he can!  He is almost always happy, except when he gets tired, then we all know it!
He still isn't sleeping through the night, waking up at least 2 times, sometimes more, but he does take excellent naps (usually an hour or so in the morning, then a 3 hr nap in the afternoon...or the other way around).  Even though it's tiring to wake up all night it is nice to be able to get things done during the day.
He loves Macie...she can always make him laugh, and he especially loves mom, which I admit I love!  We love you Pax...happy half birthday!

First Day of Preschool....

I can't believe it but my baby girl actually started preschool last week!  On Tuesday morning I took the morning off work to take her to orientation to meet her teacher, etc.  Then on Thursday she went by herself for the first time.  My mom had to take her since I worked that day & it didn't really make sense for me to take off a whole morning just to drop her off since they wouldn't let the parents go in anyway.  She woke up before I left for work and she was so excited!  My mom said when she dropped her off she went right in without a problem...I didn't really think my little miss independent would have a problem anyway!  She had a great first day & had chosen a Halloween book (random!) to take for her first show-&-tell.  She made an ice cream cone out of paper and when I asked her what she did at school she said they ate ice cream and played with blocks.  She has been asking me everyday since when she gets to go back to school...it is hard seeing my little girl grow up but I'm glad she loves school and has the independent personality that she has!

(Orientation day...she insisted on wearing a dress!)

Go Utes!

Tony, Paxton, and I were able to go the first Utah Utes football game of the season against Pitt.  We had good seats, the weather was awesome, and it was a great game with Utah winning by 3 in OT!  Paxton was a little sensitive to the loud crowd at first, but ended up falling asleep!  We had so much fun!

The Zoo

I took the kids to the zoo a couple of weeks ago.  It was such a nice day and even though we love going with friends it was kind of fun to just go the 3 of us....Macie got to be in charge of what animals we saw and how long we spent at each one.  We had a good time!

 Baby Zuri...so cute!

Macie was most excited to see the tigers....she overheard me telling Tony about a tiger that had jumped it's fence at a zoo the day before and I think she thought that maybe one would jump the fence at our zoo!
This is what happens if I don't strap Paxton in...he tries to escape!

Dixie's 60th Birthday

Tony's mom turned 60 this year so we had a little surprise party at the park for her.  It turned out nice, even if Dennis brought her 20 minutes earlier than he was supposed to!  Happy Birthday Dixie!

Dixie's parents Orvel & Joyce came into town for the party...they don't come up very often anymore since Orvel's health isn't good, so it was a nice suprise that they came!

5 Months Old

Paxton turned 5 months old last week!  He is getting so big!  At 5 months old he weighs 19 lbs (Macie barely weighed that at a year!)  He is rolling all over, starting to sit alone for a few seconds at a time, and is already trying to crawl!  He gets up on his knees and does the rock...it won't be long before he's all over the place!  He is eating every 2-3 hrs still, and before bedtime eats some oatmeal mixed with pear juice- he wouldn't eat much else and the only stuff he would eat was making his tummy upset so the oatmeal with pear juice has been a good transition and I think he's actually starting to like it! (Thanks Wendy!)
He still isn't sleeping through the night, but I've been trying to get him to go a little longer between feedings if I can, and I've been trying to keep him in his crib the whole night rather than bringing him in bed with me (which is so much easier!)  He also takes AWESOME naps during the day...usually a short one in the morning then a 2-3 hr one in the afternoon!
He is very grabby and will grab anything in sight and stick it right in his mouth!  He especially loves to grab hair...I think this is the reason I ended up cutting my hair when Macie was about 10 months old.  He gets Macie's hair a lot, too.
Anyway, he is "talking" a lot and spitting and is so fun!  We love you Paxy boy!
