Crew's 1st Birthday!

My cute nephew Crew turned 1 and we celebrated this weekend with a little birthday party for him. Unfortunately he wasn't feeling very good so he ended up sleeping through half of the party! He's so fun- I can't believe he's already 1!

He got his own cake, which he didn't really know what to do with...

...so Macie decided to help him!

Famous!

So I stole this picture from my boss' blog (thanks Sam!)- our office staff is on 2 different billboards that can be seen from I-15. It's one of the flashing ones, so you have to be there at the right time or be in traffic to see it- the picture is a little blurry but I'm in the back row on the right. It's pretty cool to be famous! ;)

I was really excited to make special Valentine cupcakes (from scratch) but they didn't turn out quite like I had hoped- the box stuff tastes just as good & takes a lot less time, plus my buttercream frosting turned out horribly (luckily I had some Duncan Heinz on hand to save the cupcakes!) I also made some chocolate heart cookies which also didn't turn out great- so much for trying to be like Martha Stewart!

Darth Vader's Birthday

Darth Vader (a.k.a. our nephew Kaden) had his 6th birthday party this weekend! He's way into Star Wars! Kaden is such a cutie- sometimes it makes me want to adopt a 6 year old! He's so good with Macie! Happy Birthday Kader!

Future Pianist!

We were fortunate enough to receive a free piano from a friend of my grandmother's recently. We are so thankful for it because it's something I've wanted in my home for a long time! It's not brand new but it works great for us. Macie already loves to play it, too. Whenever I'm playing she'll come sit by me and try to play with me...or she'll tell me "mine" and try to move my hands off! I'm planning on starting her in lessons in a few years!
