21 Months

Not much has changed in a month, but a few funny things that Pax has said or done lately are as follows:

- Anytime he doesn't get what he wants or gets in trouble he says "Yo Wude" (You're rude!) or he'll say "Yo Mean" or "She Mean" or "Daddy Mean" or "Mommy Mean" etc.  It's pretty funny and hard to get mad at!

- His new favorite word is "Why?"  Anything we say is followed by him asking "Why?"  It's funny, but sort of annoying after awhile!

- Pax is very friendly.  He saids "hi" and "thankyou" to everyone he sees!  He's also started saying "Hi Daddy" to every guy he sees which can be kind of embarrassing!  He knows who daddy is so I'm not sure why he does it!

- Pax went potty the other night in the big toilet!  I took off his diaper to get him ready for bed and kind of started to pee, so I ran him into the bathroom and put him on the potty and he finished in the toilet.  He was really excited...and so was I!  I'm not ready to start the potty training process yet, but it was kind of exciting!

- The other night we went to dinner after Macie's dance recital.  Tony was holding Pax's hand and lifted him into the booth at the restaurant by his hand and all the sudden Pax started crying really hard.  This kid is usually really tough so even if he gets hurt and cries it's usually not for very long.  But he kept holding his wrist and crying anytime I'd even move him at all, so my first thought was that he hurt his wrist.  I got some ice from the waitress and put it on it and tried to hold him still.  My sister-in-law called her friend who is the nurse at our pediatrician office and she said it was probably "nurse-maid elbow" which is when the arm comes out of socket at the elbow.  At first I thought she was wrong since he was holding his wrist, but then I let his arm go and realized he couldn't lift his arm at all and was crying hysterically from the pain.  So we called the pediatrician office and the doctor said the same thing...he offered to talk us through pop it back in but neither of us wanted to do it so he said he'd meet us in the parking lot at the office which was so nice of him since they were closed!  We left my family at Wingers and Tony and I took Pax down the street to the pediatrician's office where the doctor let us in and took us up to the office.  It took him less than 2 seconds to pop it back into place...Pax screamed for a second but when the doctor got him a popsicle that made him happy.  He even grabbed it with his "bad" arm.  He said that once it's back in it's like it never happened, which was true!  He was good as new! 

We went back to the truck and when Tony went to start it the battery was dead because a light was left on (and he has a crappy battery)!  So my mom had to drive my car from the restaurant to come jump us then we all went back to eat...finally!  My Grandma and sister-in-law had all the kids and they had made a huge mess! It was quite a night!  We couldn't stop laughing at how crazy it was! 

Anyway, that's the latest!



Visit with Santa

I took the kids to see Santa at the mall a few weeks ago.  Paxton seemed to like him from afar but as soon as I sat him on his lap he kind of freaked out!  I hurried and snapped a picture before I got him off (and right before I got in trouble for taking my own picture..come on mall people, have some Christmas spirit!)

Indoor Soccer

Macie just played her last Pre-K indoor soccer game last weekend.  Her first game was kind of rough...she was really aggressive at first, then had a complete meltdown and refused to play the second half because she "wasn't getting enough turns!"  But by the next game she was good and played great...according to her she scored 7 goals that game!  :)

They played about 6 games with a practice each week as well.  One of the games was kind of scary when Macie and the coach's son Paul collided and Paul hit his head on the floor.  His other mom was holding him while he was crying it out and all of the sudden he went completely limp, unconscious, and blue.  His mom started yelling for someone to help.  After I realized what was happening my first reaction was to start thinking about the CPR steps!  Luckily, as quickly as it happened Paul started to gain consciousness and get some of his color back, no CPR necessary!  His mom called 911 anyway and the paramedics came and took him to the ER.  While we were waiting for the EMTs to arrive my mother-in-law and I were asking Paul some questions...he was just smiling and answering so cute...I got a little teary eyed thinking about how scared I would be if it was my own baby!

Anyway, Paul ended up having a concussion, but there's nothing they really do for it, so after observing him for awhile they sent him home...thank goodness he's okay!

Other than that, it was fun to watch the kids play soccer.  Sometimes they had no idea what goal they were trying to get the ball into, but they had fun, and Macie absolutely loved playing and looked forward to every game and practice!

At the last game each kid got a trophy as well as a backpack?  Kind of random, but Macie loved it!

20 Months

Well, Pax is officially 20 months old now!  Saying kids ages by months seems weird when you get to the 20s...I can pretty much say he's almost 2 now which kind of breaks my heart!  But he is hardly my baby anymore.  He is talking like crazy and making sentences and he understands what I say to him.  He is always getting into trouble...but then he'll say "sawee (sorry) mommy" and in the cutest little voice and it literally melts my heart and makes me smile everytime, so it's really hard to stay mad at him!  Also, anytime we're in the car he'll say "mommy, mommy, mommy" until I say "what Pax" and then he'll say "I yuv you" (I love you)...too cute!  He does it to Tony too and he will just keep yelling our names until we answer and then he'll keep repeating it. 

Pax also LOVES sports!  He will sit and watch football with Tony anytime and he knows football is on just by hearing it for 2 seconds...even if it's on the radio in the car he knows what it is.  He also loves basketball which he is really good at, and soccer...he says "I kick it".  He has also become really good at catching the balls which is pretty impressive.  He loves firetrucks, airplanes, and dinosaurs.

But as much of a boy as he is, he still loves to wear Macie's pink cowgirl hat, princess shoes, fairy wings, and he loves to "dance"...haha!

Pax is really interested in going potty and everytime any of us go he likes to come too...and sometimes he'll back his little behind up to the potty and say "potty".  I'm hesitant to start him this young.  He will tell me when he poops though so maybe he is ready, who knows!  Maybe I'M not ready!

Anyway, he is sleeping about 11 hours at night and taking one 2-3 hour nap daily, and he has to sleep with his doggy, blanky, binky, & monkey and with the humidifier on.  He loves to watch "Buppies" (Bubble Guppies), he asks for "canny" (candy) several times a day even though I hardly ever give it to him, all of his canines are popping through leaving only his 2 yr molars left to erupt, and he loves to play with "sista" or "aycee" (Macie).  We recently made a little playroom for them in our basement and they will sit down there and play together...they are buddies for sure!  And of course this is also the age of tantrums...we haven't had too many yet, but they are beginning.  Flashbacks of Macie are coming back and it's not cool!  The funny thing is she can usually get him to calm down, and as long as he's not too tired it isn't too bad...yet!  Let's hope he miraculously skips the tantrum stage!  (Fingers crossed!)

Halloween

Can I just say I think Halloween falling on a Monday is LAME!  I am petitioning to have it fall on a Friday every year!  Actually it wasn't that bad this year, but it would be better if it was on a weekend!  Anyway, Halloween morning Tony had a doctor's appt so he came with us to Macie's preschool Halloween parade.  They were all so cute and they sang a couple Halloween songs & said some poems they've learned.  Then they did a little parade around the circle.  We left and they had a fun party. 

That night we went Trick-or-Treating in both of our parents' neighborhoods.  I feel bad that in the 5+ years we've lived in our house we've never been around our own neighborhood or been home to pass out candy.  Maybe next year?! 

Macie had no fear running up to EVERY door and Pax followed right along!  It was cute...and he of course if very polite and said "thank you" to everyone several times!  We had a fun night and the kids got SO much candy!  I sorted through the stuff we like/don't like and got rid of the duds!  No wonder I can't lose weight...this time of year is full of sweets and I can't resist!  I'm so weak!  Haha!  Anyway, we had a fun Halloween!

Halloween Eve

On Halloween eve we had a party with Tony's family.  We also celebrated his dad's birthday.  We had a delicious dinner then carved pumpkins.  I didn't have to help...I try to avoid pumpkin carving!  But the kids enjoyed cleaning out the pumpkin "guts".  It was a fun party!

Haunted Bus Trip to Wendover

On the Friday night before Halloween we had our 2nd annual Haunted Bus Wendover trip/party. We all brought something to snack on so we pigged out and played games on the way out to Wendover...it makes the drive go by super fast when you are having fun!  We went straight to the good casino this year and we all went our ways in smaller groups to play our preferred games.  I love craps, so that's where I was, along with a few others.  We had so much fun!  Some of the others played poker but we were all pretty close to the same area most of the time.  We chatted on the way home and had a nice ride even though we were way tired.  We got home around 3am...my kids were at my parents' house so we just went there and slept over.

I had a typical Wendover "hangover" the next day, though...exhausted, headache, and lungs & eyes burning from all the smoke!  But it was worth it!  We had a blast!  Thanks again Brooke & Charley for having such a fun party and for inviting us!
