Mother's Day

For Mother's Day we went to church then went over to Tony's parents' house for a little while.  Then we had dinner with my family at my parents' house.  Macie made me a cute card and the kids picked me out some colorful, pretty flowers.  They also got me some chocolate covered strawberries (my favorite!)  Macie said she would do anything I asked her to since it was my day...she is a sweet girl!  And Pax melted my heart everytime he'd say "Happy Mudders Day!"

We got some pictures at my in-laws but then I didn't get anymore.  It was a nice day, though!  I am beyond grateful for the mothers in my life and incredibly blessed to have 3 beautiful, amazing children who I am so in love with I can hardly stand it.  I seriously don't know what I would do if I couldn't be a mom...it was/is the one thing I wanted most in my life!  I'm nowhere near perfect at it but I couldn't love my kids more and I pray everyday that I will raise them to be good people.

Macie's Dance Competitions

Macie was in 2 dance competitions this season, the first at Juan Diego (Dance America) and the second at Taylorsville High (Aspire)...her team did 2 dances and they did such a great job.  Macie refused to show me her dances until she performed them so I had no idea what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised...she knew the dance so well and did awesome!  I am so proud of her and how far she's come as a dancer this year!  I have to say I am far from being a "dance mom" but I enjoy watching the dancers and I hope Macie will always enjoy dancing.

Awards

I think Macie thought she would get to keep the giant trophy!  Her team took 2nd & 4th place at Dance America and we left before awards at Aspire so I'm not sure how they did at that one.

Brady's First Month

 

 

 

First bottle...2 weeks old...Macie was SO excited that I finally pumped a bottle for her to feed Brady.  He took it with no problem at all!

 

Brady and his girlfriend Madi (my friend Kristin's daughter)...they are 3 weeks apart!

 

2nd Annual Murray Alumni Baseball Game

The Murray Alumni baseball players got together again this year to play baseball.  Tony was super excited...he couldn't wipe the grin off of his face all week!  It was fun to watch him play like a teenager again and he had fun.  The kids liked watching their dad play as well.  Later on they had a homerun derby...Tony didn't hit any homeruns so he was super bummed...he's already planning to practice for next year!  Anyway, it was a fun day and fun to see everyone who came and supported the event!

Fun Run

Macie's school had a "fun run" fundraiser.  Everyone donated for it and then all the kids got to run a mile run.  I went to watch and Macie did great!  She came in somewhere in the middle but she tried her hardest and also made sure to wait for her friends.  They all got a little bag of goodies when they were done.  It was pretty cute!  Way to go Macie!

30

On April 27th I turned the big 3-0.  The night before, I laid in bed and literally had tears in my eyes.  I'm not sure why I was so sad to be 30...I am thankful to have another birthday and another year spent with my loved ones because some people don't even get to live to see 30.  But I really enjoyed my 20s.  During my 20s I lived in North Carolina for 2 years, graduated from college, started my career, married the love of my life, bought our first (and only) home, and had 3 beautiful kids. 

On my birthday we had to spend the first half and majority of the day at Macie's dance competition at Juan Diego.  But when we woke up Tony and the kids surprised me with flowers, new shoes, and a super nice electric sander (I know that sounds weird but I've wanted one for a long time!)  Later that night Tony surprised me and took me to dinner at Ruth's Chris downtown.  I had never been there but had always wanted to.  Since we're not super rich it's probably not a place we'll be eating at every weekend (although I wish we could)...but it was AMAZING!  I usually don't love fancy, expensive restaurants (unless someone else is paying) because it makes me ill to spend an obscene amount of money on food that will just be gone and have nothing to show for it.  BUT, this place was worth every penny.  I had a fillet that was cooked absolutely perfect and it was by far the BEST steak I have ever had in my whole life.  I literally let out moaning noises with each bite because it tasted so good.  They also gave me a free dessert for my birthday so we got the banana cream pie since it was highly recommended.  And that was also amazing....so yummy!  My mouth is watering just thinking back on this food right now!  :)

Anyway, I couldn't leave my baby too long so we headed back to my parents' house to get the kids.  Macie and my mom surprised me with a birthday cake from Schmidts (my favorite!)  We were too full to eat any that night but we had some the next night.

I had a good birthday and I feel so blessed to have lived almost all of my dreams and accomplished almost everything I have ever wanted to do by 30. 

In my next 30 years I hope to become a better person, travel more, stress less, and live & love every moment because it goes so fast!

Flowrider

The end of April we went up to Ogden for our friend Bridger's 30th birthday party.  They rented out the entire Flowrider for an hour and everyone got to surf or body surf.  I of course sat this one out- one reason because I had Brady who was only 2 weeks old at the time, and the other reason being because the last time I attempted Flowrider I lost half my swimsuit and gained several bruises...I'm not much of a surfer!  But Tony had fun surfing and even Macie braved the body surfing side...she did great at first but as soon as her board started shifting right before it took her over the backside she kind of freaked out.  She gained enough courage to try again after it was too late...maybe next time!

Pax was too short/young to ride so he was kind of bummed, but he still had fun playing in the water and watching the big boys surf. 

Afterwards we went upstairs and had cake & ice cream and hung out for a little bit.  On our way home we stopped in Centerville and had dinner with my aunt and uncle Charli & Michael and my cousin Molly.  It was fun day!
